Poetry competition for young people!

The World Gathering of MacIntyres is holding a poetry competition for young people aged from 8 to 26! The deadline to enter is pretty tight, but the rewards are worth it! This competition is to celebrate our Gathering in Oban and Taynuilt, our famous bard Duncan Ban MacIntyre, and the Year of Young People.

Entries can be in English or Gaelic (or both), and should be submitted to poetry@macintyregathering.com. Length and format of the poem is up to the poet.

The poetry of winners and runners up will be published on the Gathering website and the Clan MacIntyre Trust website, and will be announced in the Oban Times. Prizes can be presented at Taynuilt Highland Games, or at Glenoe (depending on which day suits the winner).

All winners will have the opportunity to read their poetry at a special event in Oban, and will also be invited to read their poetry at a ceremony at the Cairn for the Chiefs of Clan MacIntyre (transport to Oban not provided. Transport from Oban to Glenoe will be provided as part of the prize).
